2024 Silver Cloud - White Tea from Laos
Silver Cloud is a pure bud white tea from the Bolaven Plateau in the Champasak Province of southern Laos. While surely influenced by Fujian style Silver Needle tea, Silver Cloud is really quite different from that style of tea. Silver Cloud is a bit savory and toasty, with some very apparent umami qualities to the infusion. Overall the tea is light, as you might expect with an all bud white tea, but there is an excellent sweetness and roundness that builds with each sip. Tasting notes include sweet pastry and even a bit of cereal or corn. It's really quite lovely.
2024 Spring harvest from the Kinnari Tea project. No pesticides or chemical fertilizers were used in this tea.
