  • Sayama-kaori Single Cultivar Sencha from Sayama

This exceptional sencha hails from Sayama in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It's a single-origin, single-cultivar tea made exclusively from Sayama-kaori plants. This cultivar, registered in 1971 for sencha production, emerged from a natural crossing of Yabukita plants. Sayama-kaori is renowned for its full, fresh aroma,  a delightful sweet aftertaste, and an overall refreshing quality.

The taste experience is both crisp and full-bodied. Notes of lime peel and grapefruit dance on the palate, complemented by a subtle floral quality. An intriguing astringency provides a robust backbone without overwhelming the balance, resulting in a truly engaging cup.

Crafted by the esteemed Yokota family farm, this sencha undergoes futsumushi (regular) steaming and light firing, preserving its distinctive qualities.
