  • Kaguraden Matcha by Yamamasa Koyamaen (30 gram tin)

Kaguraden Matcha from Yamamasa Koyamaen is in the top three of their principal matcha lineup.  It's a real stand-out selection, with an incredible intensity and velvety texture.  We tasted prominent notes of dark chocolate and toasted nuts, with a truly delicious lingering aftertaste.  It's a complex beauty, suitable for both koicha and usucha, and of course it makes an exceptional (albeit spendy) matcha latte.

Yamamasa Koyamaen is a traditional and historic tea company based in Uji, Japan, founded in 1861. They are well regarded for maintaining very high standards for their raw material, processing, and stone milling, and have won first prize 22 times at Japan's National Tea Competition.

A typical serving for usucha is 2 grams, while a typical serving for koicha or matcha latte is 4 grams.
