  • 2020 "Gold Leaf" Golden Triangle Old Tree Raw Puerh from Myanmar

Full and sweet, this award-winning raw puerh hails from the Kokang region in Myanmar's northern Shan State. Kokang, known in Mandarin (pinyin) as Guǒgǎn or Guo Gan, is an ancient tea cultivation area bordering Lincang, Yunnan. Many tea trees here are several centuries old, growing naturally in a dense forest environment.

This young raw puerh is exceptionally good and offers outstanding value. It's dense with a nose of apricots and summer flowers, along with a whiff of that famous raw puerh note, "granny face powder." The astringency builds after the first steeping, revealing the tea's true character - strong, supple, floral, and refreshing. While ready to drink now, this tea is also an excellent candidate for further aging.

Winner of the Gold Award at the 2020 Shenzhen Tea Expo in the "Ancient Tree Blending" Category.
