  • 2010 Dayi Lao Cha Tou Ripe Puerh

This 2010 Dayi Factory Lao Cha Tou (or "Old Tea Head") ripe puerh steeps super sweet and smooth, extremely easy to drink.  It has a lighter body with notes of cocoa powder, caramel, and sweet milky cookies.  Because it is a cha tou, you can get many, many steepings from it.

Cha Tou are variably sized nuggets of tea that form naturally in the fermentation step, or wodui, of ripe puerh production.  Essentially the heat and pressure of the pile make some of the leaves ball up together and form these tea nuggets that are quite compressed.  These little nuggets, or cha tou, are very compact and microbe-dense.

Natural Guangzhou storage for eleven years.

Each brick is approximately 250 grams.
